This is not your "run of the mill" suit! We spent a year developing this suit in hopes of creating the best wetsuit in the Spearfishing Market. Those that have had the chance to try it have agreed, this is the best wetsuit available at this point! We teamed with Henderson Wetsuits to be sure we had the highest quality available. You will not be disappointed!
Because of the extra stretch, the sizing fits a larger range. If you're unsure of what size you'd fit in best, call us anytime: 800-661-9352 or Email: Info@SpearedApparel.com
Came across Speared a while back but only recently realized they sold wet suits. I was in the market for a new suit anyway so I decided to give their suits a try and I was not let down. The lining keeps me as warm or warmer than any open cell, all without needing to get the suit lubed up and wet before putting it on! I definitely was happy with that.
Just as a heads up, take the size chart with a grain of salt. I am 6'2, 175 pounds, and measure to be in a Medium suit, but found that the Medium was too small for me. I ordered a Large and it fit me perfectly, even though I didn't meet many of the requirements. So IMO, if you are on the high end of a size, I would size up as they seem to run more form fitting than usual.
Other than that, these wet suits are great, no complaints!
Kept hearing about this wetsuit and couldn't wait to try it out. The first day I got in the water with it on I almost had thought I bought a 5mm it was so warm. 62 degree water and the suit made it feel like 80 degrees. Highly recommend this suit for all level of divers. Awesome job.
Where to start on this suit....... Firstly, the black looks so bad ass... For the first time ever in the market, these guys have put together a black suit that doesn't look like a 3 year old has glued the seems and one that doesn't look like the seems are going to burst once you slide your dad-bod into it.
And I'm pretty sure the camo speaks for itself! What an awesome looking suit, trust me.... It looks ever better in person!
Wind chill? What is wind chill? This suit is awesome at cutting out the wind on the boat, so no more freezing your titties off while boaty!
Water warmth.... Like you wouldn't believe, when you first drop in and the fleece gets wet... For about 0.173747282 of a second you'll feel the cool water, then it's gone! Speared have figured out some sort of gypsie power for this suit to warm you up, but not over heat, and cool you down, but not make you cold. It actually keeps you at an awesome temp in the water.
And for the record, no lube means NO LUBE! I know we've been told different all our lives by our girlfriends and wives... But sliding in dry is 10 times better. This suit is actually easier to put on bone dry, then when it's wet! With no rubber at all on the inside, the fire fleece lining makes life so much easier. No hair pulling, no chaffing... Slides right on in (if only everything was that easy).
This suit is by far one of the most comfortable suits on the market! No need to lube up and get cold before you jump in... The flexibility is great when hunting fish in deep water and maneuverability on the bottom stalking fish is great! Keeps me warm on long dives when in the water for 5-6 hours. The material handles great for these Hawaiian waters rock hoping...
When it comes to wetsuits I am super fussy and spoilt. I pretty much only use custom made suits from the top wetsuit manufacturers in Europe, using the best materials available. So to go to something that was not only different, but also off the shelf was difficult. And I must admit that I was very sceptical.
I have now used the suit for a little over a month with around 12 dives in 22-27 deg C water (71-81 deg F)
The first thing I noticed that the suit has less rubber than my 3mm opencell suit. This means that you use less weights which is a good thing. It also makes the suit super stretchy so it fits really well for an off the shelf suit. The fleece lining is also amazing comfort wise. No rashes and pinching, which makes it perfect for those dive trips when you are diving all day for a week or more.
I found the suit perfect for the 22deg C and above. I know this is not very cold but I get cold very easily, and normally move over to a 5mm top when the water drops to 21 deg C and full 5mm suit below 20 deg C (68deg F).
So this is a perfect replacement for my current 3mm opencell suit. The bonus is no more soap and wetsuit rash on long dive trips. A definite thumbs up :-)
